It's All About The Lace

One of this upcoming spring's trends is lace. This trend has travelled into shoes and Salvatore Ferragamo Varina has proven that he is ready for the season.

This ADORABLE bow lace flat will surely be a hit in the stores, as long as people are willing to spend a little extra for the look ($634). The thicker lace material and pattern add more of a flare to a simple flat. I love this trend and can't wait to buy a pair of lace shoes for myself. So keep your eyes out for this trend which will soon be appearing in shoe stores everywhere.

London Calling!

Hello my little fashionistas and shoe enthusiasts!
I have been given a great opportunity for the months of May and June. I am going to be studying at a castle just outside of London, England. That's no typo my friends, I did in deed write CASTLE.

Can't you already see me walking down the halls wearing my Barbie peep toe pumps?

I can't wait to experience a new culture, meet new people, and bring my best stylish foot forward as I shop through the England shoe stores. I will make sure to keep you updated on trends across the ocean and the shoe purchases I make. I better start saving!

In case you want to follow a closer look at my adventure I'm starting a new blog dedicated to my time there. I'll give you a heads up about it once I start it.

Bye for now my fellow shoe-a-holics!

Making a Casual Outfit Classy.

Need a way to make a casual outfit a little classier? Take a lesson from starlight Halle Berry and match your outfit with a pointed toe heel. Spotted at the screening for The Call, she rocked the red carpet by leading her outgoing nature one step at a time with her adorable peace/rose pumps.

This type of shoe can tie an outfit together to make you red carpet ready. Think the pointed toe heel is a little boring? Find a pair with studs or designs on the side to really bring your personality out through your shoes. If you look closely, Halle chose a great pair of heels, as they are classy yet fun, with some designs along the side. Just make sure that the extra flare on your shoes doesn’t clash with your accessories (I’ve seen this FAR too many times).

The question today is:
Is Halle wearing her own shoes (5th Avenue by Halle Berry)?
No she is not. Tisk tisk Halle.

Want this look?
Check out TownShoes for a beautiful dark beige Vince Camuto pointed toe heel with some texture to it.

I Should Go Shopping With My Dad More Often...

Story Time! I went on a huge shopping spree with my parents a few weekends ago, because I was leaving for school and needed some new things...especially shoes (a girl can never have too many). And as usual I had to stop by Town Shoes to see if any new styles had come out. I found a few pairs that I liked but voted against them because they were sandals and winter is coming! (Game of thrones anyone?)

I thought I was going to walk out of the store empty handed until my dad brought me a shoe and told me to try it on. My dad is in the shoe industry so he knows what works, what doesn't and what will last the longest. He handed me this shoe:

At first I thought my dad was hallucinating. They weren't really my style...until I tried them on. Hands down the COMFIEST shoes I have ever tried. They hug your feet and have the perfect arch and cushioning, and they have a great grip. Same material as Hunter rain boots so they'll last me years! They started to grow on me so I bought them. Yay to a good purchase!

I HIGHLY recommend this pair of shoes! At least go to your nearest shoe store that holds Hunter and try them on and tell me what you think!

Welcome To My World

So I've decided to open my closet to the world and give you a chance to see my shoes and tell me what you think about them.

First up on the pedestal are my favourite pair of House of Harlow black pumps.

I've had these babies for about 2 years now and they never seem to fail when it comes to the 'wow factor'. Although they may be simple, they definitely don't get lost in my outfit. For me, these are the perfect height and heel size (more on the smaller scale).

They're my go to heels if I need a pair of shoes that will be gorgeous yet won't be too much if I'm wearing a colourful outfit.

Amanda Bynes, I Approve.

Spotted taking out some spending money at her local bank, Amanda Bynes sported a pair of Steve Madden black leather and gold studded flats.

Although these shoes could be done elegantly with a white blouse and loose fitted jean mash-up, Ms. Bynes throws together all sorts of patterns and prints to make for a surprisingly cute outfit. Her "don't care what anybody says" attitude definitely helps pull off this look.

Is Amanda trying to go for the rocker chic look as other Hollywood beauty Miley Cyrus has done?

Do you think she pulls it off?
Let me know.

Why Can't I Buy Them All?

Who is my favourite shoe designer?

Hmmm......who am I kidding? I don't have to think this question over, it is hands down Kate & Mel. Their shoes are fun, comfortable (even the heels) and affordable. They definitely have a triple threat going on there.

Everytime I walk into TownShoes (which is quite often...I have a problem, okay?!) I bee line it straight for the Kate and Mel display, and they never seem to dissapoint. Although some of my friends have placed their designs in the "abnormal" pile, they're always in the "YESYESYES" pile for me.

It's funny when it comes to this duo. I buy a pair of their shoes, take them home and show my sister (spreading my joy of new found heels). The first thing she says everytime is "I don't like them. They're weird". OBVIOUSLY I don't listen to her because:

1) A person that says the shoes I buy are "weird" is crazy.
2) I frankly don't care what she thinks of them. I don't have to agree with her on everything.

So I move on with my day, trying not to bitch-slap her everytime I cross her path. Now, you're probably wondering where the "funny" thing about Kate and Mel shoes come in. Well, about....a month later, everytime and I mean EVERYTIME, my sister borrows the shoes. Wears them as if their hers and takes the compliments she receives as if she has always loved the pair. Maybe it's because she sees them in the house and starts to get used to them...who knows. But one thing is for sure, whenever I get a new pair of Kate and Mel shoes I show my sister and hide them.
