I Should Go Shopping With My Dad More Often...

Story Time! I went on a huge shopping spree with my parents a few weekends ago, because I was leaving for school and needed some new things...especially shoes (a girl can never have too many). And as usual I had to stop by Town Shoes to see if any new styles had come out. I found a few pairs that I liked but voted against them because they were sandals and winter is coming! (Game of thrones anyone?)

I thought I was going to walk out of the store empty handed until my dad brought me a shoe and told me to try it on. My dad is in the shoe industry so he knows what works, what doesn't and what will last the longest. He handed me this shoe:

At first I thought my dad was hallucinating. They weren't really my style...until I tried them on. Hands down the COMFIEST shoes I have ever tried. They hug your feet and have the perfect arch and cushioning, and they have a great grip. Same material as Hunter rain boots so they'll last me years! They started to grow on me so I bought them. Yay to a good purchase!

I HIGHLY recommend this pair of shoes! At least go to your nearest shoe store that holds Hunter and try them on and tell me what you think!

Welcome To My World

So I've decided to open my closet to the world and give you a chance to see my shoes and tell me what you think about them.

First up on the pedestal are my favourite pair of House of Harlow black pumps.

I've had these babies for about 2 years now and they never seem to fail when it comes to the 'wow factor'. Although they may be simple, they definitely don't get lost in my outfit. For me, these are the perfect height and heel size (more on the smaller scale).

They're my go to heels if I need a pair of shoes that will be gorgeous yet won't be too much if I'm wearing a colourful outfit.

Amanda Bynes, I Approve.

Spotted taking out some spending money at her local bank, Amanda Bynes sported a pair of Steve Madden black leather and gold studded flats.

Although these shoes could be done elegantly with a white blouse and loose fitted jean mash-up, Ms. Bynes throws together all sorts of patterns and prints to make for a surprisingly cute outfit. Her "don't care what anybody says" attitude definitely helps pull off this look.

Is Amanda trying to go for the rocker chic look as other Hollywood beauty Miley Cyrus has done?

Do you think she pulls it off?
Let me know.

Why Can't I Buy Them All?

Who is my favourite shoe designer?

Hmmm......who am I kidding? I don't have to think this question over, it is hands down Kate & Mel. Their shoes are fun, comfortable (even the heels) and affordable. They definitely have a triple threat going on there.

Everytime I walk into TownShoes (which is quite often...I have a problem, okay?!) I bee line it straight for the Kate and Mel display, and they never seem to dissapoint. Although some of my friends have placed their designs in the "abnormal" pile, they're always in the "YESYESYES" pile for me.

It's funny when it comes to this duo. I buy a pair of their shoes, take them home and show my sister (spreading my joy of new found heels). The first thing she says everytime is "I don't like them. They're weird". OBVIOUSLY I don't listen to her because:

1) A person that says the shoes I buy are "weird" is crazy.
2) I frankly don't care what she thinks of them. I don't have to agree with her on everything.

So I move on with my day, trying not to bitch-slap her everytime I cross her path. Now, you're probably wondering where the "funny" thing about Kate and Mel shoes come in. Well, about....a month later, everytime and I mean EVERYTIME, my sister borrows the shoes. Wears them as if their hers and takes the compliments she receives as if she has always loved the pair. Maybe it's because she sees them in the house and starts to get used to them...who knows. But one thing is for sure, whenever I get a new pair of Kate and Mel shoes I show my sister and hide them.

A Glimpse of Fall

Although I have about 3 pairs of lace up boots at home, quite similar to this pair, I just can't help but want to buy them.

Steve Madden is one of my faves when it comes to Fall boots. His boots always seem to be right up my alley. As I browsed his website, this shoe stuck out to me and whispered in my ear begging me to click purchase. It's a fun and casual bootie for the Fall that would be suitable for shopping downtown or walking around campus. I am DEFINATELY buying these babies if I ever see them in stores. (I just don't trust buying shoes online...something always goes wrong)

Oh Betsey...

Now if you've seen some of world-wide designer Betsey Johnson's clothes, you'll know that several of her pieces are a little....vibrant (to say the least). Although she has designed some beautiful and elegant shoes....this one is taking it a little far.

Am I alone here? I am all for a little animal print in a shoe to spice an outfit up, but this awkward half and half is putting this shoe in the definate NO pile for me. If she didn't think the straight line between the solid and animal wasn't enough, Betsey had to add in the fringe. This pair is just not doing it for me.

Maybe I'm just a girl who doesn't like to mix fringe with animal print.
BUT, if you are, then go for it!

And let me know what YOU think!

My Mirage In the Distance

Jeffrey Campbell has done it once again with this ADORABLE foxy platform, nude-suede heel.
I've been eyeing these for a while now, yet still haven't bought them. I guess part of me knows that going to school in a small town would only allow me to wear these while going out. And wearing these on drunken nights at the local bars would definately kill these babies. So...I admire them from afar, picturing them in my closet. Maybe now that I have money in my bank account again, I'll treat myself. But who knows.

I'll keep you updated.

What is it about a shoe?

Is it the way your newly pedicured feet slide into your size 8 peep-toe pumps? The perfect snug fit that a new pair of Tory Burch flats feel like? Or is it the smile that you get by looking at the Steve Madden's that you've been wearing all night? What is it about shoes that gets your heart racing and imagination running in all seperate directions?

I started this blog to be honest with myself and the world.
I HAVE A PROBLEM.

My name is Laura and....I am addicted to shoes.

Welcome to my world of shoes.
